b&w or color???

Which do you prefer and why??? I love b&w but I also love to alter them in Adobe Photoshop so that part of the picture is b&w and some is color. I think it really makes them POP off of a page. What do you think???

Gosh. I go back and forth. I love crispt color photos. But sometimes, it just doesn't look right in color. So if I do convert to B/W I am really trying to funk up my conversions a bit.

Conversions...that's a whole different problem I have!!:D Everyone talks about all these cool conversions that make your photos really pop!!! Where do I learn about them?? I am conversion inept:o

I do more color than b&w, but once in awhile I like working with b&w's.

How's that for vague? Seriously... I love the timeless look of the B&W but I also love to show off the colors in some of my pics- that and it is a little more REAL, kwim? Later generations won't have to wonder- what color is her hair? LOL

I'm torn, also. I've taken several b&w lab classes and I absolutely love the magic of watching a photo come to life in the chemicals. But, living here in the desert is a problem. The university would almost need a "clean room" (like what Intel uses) to avoid all the dust in the darkroom and on the enlarger.

Color, like Sandi said, allows the viewer to know what colors were worn during different time periods. Though I'm not sure that's always a good thing. :p Yes, yes, I know it really is, but still, some clothing and decorating choices can leave one wondering......:eek:

I shoot everything. My kids' friends, weeds, the barn, tree stumps, dh, neighbors, everything.
