Do you print your photos at home or at a photo lab? Tell us your pros and cons about printing at home verses having someone else do it:)

I almost always upload them to Walgreens, and pick them up in an hour at the store. First, I think that you cannot beat the quality of a professional print. We have an awesome photo printer, and the quality from taking them in is so much better. Just my 2 cents!

I do mine at home.
I love having the freedom of printing when i want and what size i want.
when you use the right ink with the right paper on a good printer the quality is fantastic.
Plus living here in Germany and not speaking German it's just much easier to do it myself! ;)

My printer is crap! Would love to have the option to print at home. :)
But for now, I upload to Ritz/Wolf camera and can pick them up in an hour. :)

I print mine at home. Instant gratification. Downfall, running out of ink. I'm thinking of checking out winkflash.com

I love costco online. I don't have to take my digicard to the store, just pop it into the computer pick the photos, order (anytime day or night) and they are ready when I go there. I even put in orders and pick them up on my way to a crop so have them with me. I like the ablity of just going in to pick the photos up and there is rarely a line (not like the checkouts) I think they should have a few parking spots for people just picking up photos. (hahaha) Can't beat the price and size choices.:D

I am a mom of three with the nearest larger town about 30 miles from me so we invested in a great printer.......instant pictures and they are pretty good quality, too!!

I usually upload to Winkflash and get them mailed to me. The only bad part is having to wait. I'm thinking of looking somewhere local to go. I do occassionally print from home if I just can't wait, but my printer just doesn't do as good of a job.

I usually upload to either Walgreens (snapfish) or WM. Just easier for me to let someone else do it..
But I have printed a few here at home..still I don't have the best printer..

I have a pretty good photo printer, I just have to learn how to use it better because you have to know a bit about color management in order to get the best prints sometimes. It does a great job most times. I used to go mail order but I didn't like the color quality. I've tried those kiosks but I have found that if you don't go when the solutions are fresh, your pictures suffer (ah the joys of having a photo lab run by  ). I think I'll try the online services though. I have plenty of ink and my printer takes separate color cartridges so ink isn't an issue for me, I'm pretty efficient in that regard. I just would prefer to have someone else do the color managing for now.

I print my from Sams Club.
Pro: I upload them right from home which is an added bonus for me. I can edit the photo's with the software Sams' Club provides but I do most of my editing first with Photoshop Elements. I pay 17 cents a print for 4X6 on Fuji Paper.
Con: Nothing major, I just have to wait 1 hour for them and then go to the store to pick them up.

I print the majority of mine at home. I like being able to do custom sizes and b&w whenever the mood strikes me.

I always upload them online to have them printed at the grocery store. They are the only place in town that uses Kodak Ultra Gold, and nothing else compares to the quality! If I am out of town, Ritz/Wolf online is the next best thing :)

I usually print mine at home too. I love the flexiblity of sizes, colors, and instant gratification. On occasion, I upload to other photo labs if I'm not in a rush or have a large quantity to print. I usually like winkflash, scrapbookpictures, and photomax.:D

I only recently started printing some on the photo printer I got for work. It's not too bad. I prefer to have them done at Costco.

We got a printer so we could print photos at home but it does not hold up to the standards I like. Although now that I think about it, I don't know if I have printed up my digitals on it (only scanned in photos).
For digital I use Snapfish. I hate having to wait but using the 1 hour option does not allow me to get matte finish.
For my film, I use a professional photo processor so the colors turn out nice. I have to wait a day but that is okay. I used to pay more at this place for the one hour photo but the colors did not turn out as good as the overnight as they work to make sure each print has the correct color.

i prefer to print at the store because then they are *done* and it is usually cheaper in the long run. however, i have been printing a lot at home lately because i am just tooooooo impatient :D

i normally print mine at home. especially in various sizes, which i love the freedom of printing at home. i do send my pics to (used to send to Costco), but using Ritz now for my 4x6 prints. i do like to keep lots of extra photos on hand to send to family/friends or for the spur of the moment scrappin.
