Do your stamps tear?

when you pull them off the backing they come on? Are you supposed to take them off of that backing when you purchase them? I have had several sets tear when taking them off. Usually it's the ones that have sat on the backing for some time between uses. Which is why I wondered if they are supposed to come off of that cling sheet for another form of storage in between uses??

I've never actuaaly torn one yet (knock on wood), but it definitely seems like the longer they sit on the acrylic sheets, the more stuck that they become...

I torn one from the new FP Christmas set and my new BG ones that came out with Two Scoops. I have found some are harder to get off than others. But this is when mine are new . Once I have used them a couple of times, they don't stick very well. I wonder if getting some water on them would loosen them at all??

I have had seveal sets that really cling to the backing as well. It's important to gently 'Roll' your stamps off of the backing rather than pulling them off. Hopefully that way you will avoid any damage to the acrylic :D

I've torn one of my Pink.Sugar.Pop. stamps, but that baby was really thin and stuck hard on the wrapper. I think the FPD and BG stick better to the packaging than many others.

I torn one just the other day for the first time and was devastated. It is a stamp I use alot adn even when I tryed using it torn it showed the torn line when stamped Crying How awlful. Now I am very carefull !!!!!!

I've noticed that some of the clear kinds REALLY cling to the backing and I have torn one completely in two pieces!!! OOPS! They are durable but not unbreakable!

I tore one of my FP stamps as well. Those suckers are hard to get off.
BUT I will say they have reformatted their stamps and they came off the package and stamped like a dream. I was soo surprised. I emailed Jodi right away and said NOW THIS IS MORE LIKE IT! So hopefully there will be no more torn FP stamps in the future. Why they are stuck down so hard, I dont know. But it does make it hard to use for sure.

I've had this happen before on some of the autumn leaves brand. I found that wetting them a bit and rolling it helps. It sure is a bummer when they rip...talk about getting the blood boiling...LOL

I am always worried that my stamps will tear and then I always think "no they are made well enough that they won't tear." Good thing to know that they actually do. Yikes! Now I will have to be even more careful. Kind of makes me not want to share them either. ;)

I've only had some genric ones that I bought from walmart tear... luckily none of my beloved AL, TT or FW stamps have torn.
